About

I'm Shanice, an Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counsellor based in Basingstoke, working with young people aged 11+, young adults and parents. I support people who may be feeling anxious, overwhelmed, disconnected or unsure of what to do next, including difficulties with relationships, communication, confidence, identity, family life and periods of change. For young people, this might include difficulties at school, friendships or family life, or simply feeling that things are harder than they should be. I also work with parents as adults in their own right, whether support is around relationships, identity, wellbeing or life transitions. Person-centred is at the heart of my approach, alongside psychodynamic and transactional analysis thinking. Creative approaches are also part of my practice, because not everything has words yet. I offer a warm, inclusive and trauma-informed space where you don't need to arrive knowing exactly what you need help with. You can contact me to arrange a free 20-minute introductory call — a chance to talk briefly about what brings you to counselling, ask questions and see whether working together feels like a good fit. For young people, I will usually speak with a parent or carer initially about arranging counselling, while maintaining the young person's privacy and confidentiality within the boundaries explained at the beginning of therapy.
